**Rose enters, a dreamy smile on her face as she thinks about her home... She clears her throat and says** My dear friends and fellow warriors! The tale I tell you today is not a tragic one, though it pains me to tell it, and it is not a happy either, though it gives me joy to think of it. My story is simply true. It is what happened, when, and why, from my point on view. I was born in Noonvale, under the silver moon on the clearest night in December. For a few seasons, nothing interesting occured, besides the birth of my brothers and sisters, and many wonderful memories formed with my dear friend Freila, the mole-maid. She was a faithful friend who participated in my many crazy adventures, and was the rock of sense that most moles are. Her sad tale is not for today, but perhaps I shall tell you it sometime. Well, when I was about thirteen seasons old, a massive rat army began threatening Noonvale. As you probably know, the Noonvalers are peaceful, non-violent beasts. The only time they rouse themselves to battle is when Noonvale is directly threatened. **Rose takes a pause, gathering her thoughts** Well, this was one of those times. The Noonvalers fought with all the strength of desperation, and it was their vigor for their home that allowed them victory. I fought along with them, and those wars, called the Wars of the Vale, were where I began to become the warrior I am today. It was in those battles, skirmishes, and conflicts that I found my true purpose in life. To protect good, defenseless beasts was my vow, and my earring represents my commitment to it. **She fingers the silver earring lightly, the light of the moon dancing off of it. She continues...** So, for reasons that are not a part of this tale, I left Noonvale, desiring to find the true skill of a warrior among the other beasts of the world. I travelled with the Long Patrol, sailed with a sea otter holt, and learned the ways of the sword with a wise squirrel named Hoyle. Through many adventures and trials and tests I came to this place, this fortess of warriors. And here I stand before you- a tried and tested warrior of the blade. **She draws her blade, the light of the moon reflecting off of it. She smiles softly and gives her war-cry** NOONVALE!!!!!!!!!!!
